Description

The entry in the Schedule of monuments apperaing to the Secretary of State for scotland to be of national importance complied and miantained b him under section 1 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979 in respect of the monument formely known as the Chapel of Ui or Old Kirk of Eye, dated and in respect of which three notices were served on 11 March 1954 and which notices were recorded in the Dicision of the general register of Sasines for the County of Ross and Cromarty on 19 April 1954 and now to be known as St Columba's Church, Aiginis, Uidh, is herby in accordance with the provisions of section 1 (5) of the above act amended to describe the ares of the scheduled monument as comprising of a rectangular area of ground measuring some 37m SW-NE by 15 SE-NW, including the church, the burial aisle, the tombstones and an area of gorund extending 4m from the church on all sides, as shown delineated in red on the plan annexed and executed as relative hereto.
