What may be a township comprising one unroofed, six roofed buildings and three enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Island of Harris 1881, sheet xvii). Five unroofed buildings and an enclosure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).

Balds map identifies several building, annotated 'Nisinshee'. All buildings represented on the 1st edition map sheet remain upstanding, the area is charaterized by extensive lazy bed cultivation contained within a head dyke. The settlement has been truncated by the main road.
