'A small, ... , shallow bay at the head of which are [some] fishermens huts. There is a pretty large beach at the water comprisied of blouders and shingle. It is much resorted to in the summer and spring of the year by the neighbouring fishermen through its being a good station for fishing ling, cod and other small fish.

Seven roofed buildings are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis Ross-shire 1853, sheet 6), but they are not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).
