A township comprising ten unroofed buildings, which are all annotated as Ruins and one is a long, L-shaped building, and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire, Island of Lewis 1854, sheet 37). Six unroofed buildings, a series of enclosures that are annotated as a Sheep Wash, a field and a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).

Township seen on 1st edition OS, comprising ten unroofed buildings, one long building and head-dyke. Current OS map shows six unroofed buildings, enclosures forming a sheep wash, a field and a head-dyke
Current AP's show the ruins of the township as depicted on the 6" 1st OS sheet, with later sheep fank also visible. This settlement is also identified on the Chapman /Gibbs map of 1807-09 as an enclosed area annotated 'Brinigel'.
