Full Description
"Located at the summit of Cnoc nan Clach (Hill of the Stone) this small circle of 10 stones measures 7 metres from north to south and 6 metres from west to east. It consists of low stones of an orthostatic nature measuring no more than 0.9 metres by 0.45 metres and standing up to 0.6 metres tall. Within the oval interior of the setting there is a low mound up to 0.5 metres high which may represent the remains of an internal feature such as a cairn, or could be a function of aeolian and mammalian erosion on the site. Three orthostatic stones are also located within the circle at its south-eastern side." Part of a ritual landscape. "Including the stone circle and setting on Cnoc nan Clach and the standing stone at Sildonis (NB21NE04) this landscape seems to dominate the slopes above the south-western end of the sea loch - Loch Erisort. Other elements might include the spring or well (5.4) located in the valley immediately to the west of Cnoc nan Clach and the chambered cairn located ca 1000 metres to the south of the burn that runs past its west side (5.5)."
