This building is recorded on the 6” 1st ed Ordnance Survey Sheet and was surveyed in 1876. It was a Free Church & School and as such was an important building to the surrounding communities. The current building is now a hotel; however the original building footprint and elevations are clearly intact, including a bell-cot with finial; there are several later additions including a porch and extensions to the south and west elevations.
