Full Description

Several sheilings built on a large grassy mound. The mound is potentially the remains of an earlier feature. This site would benefit from a visit.
Not depicted on 1st ed 6"OS sheet, seen on later OS sheets.

A large elongated oval grass & heather covered mound with large stones representing probable peristaliths, approx dimensions 17m x 40m x 3m height. Later sheiling occupation on the mound in the form of three circular structures has degraded the original structure significantly in places. Located high on hill slope with extensive views to the west coast & south across the moorland and to the hills. There are old peat cuttings and heavy heather growth on the slope below this feature. It seems likely that this was originally a chambered cairn.
