Full Description
Remains of the pre-clearance settlement are located west of the modern track, between two later roofed buildings. Depicted in Balds map as a sub-linear arrangement of houses with an enclosure to the west. 6"1st ed Ordnance Survey sheet (1876) depicts a single roofless building only. Current AP's show remains of several houses, possible enclosure. a quay and a naust. Potentially other remains may lie east of the road. Note reference to this settlement in record SMR1820 / MWE84339.
