Full Description

NF72NE 8 unlocated

A number of small villages of 18th-century or earlier origin and deserted in the 19th-century were planned by I A Crawford [on behalf of the School of Scottish Studies]. Those on Loch Fynort (sic:presumably a misprint for Loch Eynort) were Rubha na Meinneag, Airigh nam Baine, Port Skeig, Rubha Clach and Baile Uachdrach. [None of these names appear on OS Maps.]
D G Hurst 1969.

All the above settlements are located in Loch Eynort and are apparent on Balds map. Baile Uachdrach is annotated 'High Town'. The record location has been amended from L.Boisdale to L.Eynort.
