Full Description
NF85NW 7 8450 5757.
(NF 8450 5757). Near the centre of Loch an Fhaing, are the scanty remains of a dun. Nothing survives but a mass of loose stones projecting slightly above the water. The site is possibly artificial.
RCAHMS 1928, visited 28 June 1915.
an island dun in Loch an Fhaing, Grimsay, was as described in the NMRS, with the remains of a causeway 20m long linking an artificial or modified natural islet with the north shore of the loch. The islet measured approximately 10m in diameter, being subcircular or oval in plan, with a mass of jumbled gneiss boulders visible across its surface.
