Full Description

Prehistoric occupation deposits were encountered during archaeological evaluation ahead of a proposed development. The stratified deposits comprised of sooty layers of peat ash, rich with animal bone, ceramic's & quern fragment. The archaeologist interpreted the finds as the edge of a prehistoric dwelling (likely Late Bronze Age), which the trench just clipped. Disturbed elements of the deposit were recovered, the rest of the site remains insitu. Post ex analysis is currently on-going.
